La Rochelle is located on the west coast of France and is a preserved old port town, the perfect place for a short break.
The old harbour area is lined with colourful cafes, bars and restaurants, there are beautiful beaches to top up the tan and boutique shops where you can pick up a little piece of French style.
Temperatures in La Rochelle are generally high, as a result of the gulf stream and is similar to the Riviera. It cannot fail to relax you.
Strolling around the harbour is one of the best things to do to soak up the atmosphere of La Rochelle. There are around 3,600 yachts moored at the Port des Minimes. It is possible to climb the three mediaeval towers which guard the port. Tour St Nicolas is the oldest tower, built between 1371 and 1382 and offers a spectacular view over the town and harbour.
